Tom Hanks to play detective in new murder mystery

Hollywood superstar Tom Hanks is set to play a detective in a new murder mystery movie.

The film, which does not yet have a title, is being produced by Paramount Pictures.

According to reports, the plot will revolve around a detective who is investigating a murder that has stumped the police.

Hanks is no stranger to the crime genre, having previously starred in films such as "The Da Vinci Code" and "Angels & Demons".

He is also no stranger to playing detectives, having portrayed Andy Griffiths in the popular TV series "The Andy Griffith Show".

The new movie will be directed by Shawn Levy, who has previously helmed hits such as "Night at the Museum" and "Cheaper by the Dozen".

Hanks is expected to start filming the new movie later this year.

Tom Brady sidelined with injury

The New England Patriots were dealt a big blow as quarterback Tom Brady was sidelined with an injury. With backup Jimmy Garoppolo also out, the team will have to rely on rookie Jacoby Brissett.

The injury occurred in the first quarter of the Patriots' Week 1 game against the Cardinals. Brady left the game after taking a hit from Arizona defensive lineman Calais Campbell. He walked off the field under his own power but did not return.

An MRI later confirmed that Brady had a torn ACL and would be out for the rest of the season. This is a huge loss for the Patriots, who are now without their starting quarterback and backup.

Jacoby Brissett will be the starter for New England from now on. He was drafted by the Patriots in the third round of this year's NFL draft and has only played in one preseason game.

Brissett is a rookie and will likely struggle in place of Tom Brady. The Patriots will now have to hope that he can at least hold down the fort until Brady returns next season.

Singer Tom Jones hospitalized for exhaustion

Veteran singer Tom Jones has been hospitalized for exhaustion, his publicist confirmed Tuesday.

The 78-year-old Welsh crooner "is being cared for by doctors and is expected to make a full recovery," according to a statement from Clair Seminara.

Jones has canceled all of his engagements for the next two weeks, including a performance at the British Summer Time concert series in London's Hyde Park on July 14.

"He is grateful for the support and love he is receiving and is looking forward to getting back on stage as soon as possible," Seminara said.

This isn't the first time that Jones has fallen ill in recent years: He was hospitalized with a bacterial infection in October 2016 and subsequently canceled concerts in the U.S. and Europe.

Tom Hardy to star in new war movie

British actor Tom Hardy is set to star in a new war movie about the evacuation of Allied troops from Dunkirk in 1940. The movie, which is being directed by Christopher Nolan, will tell the story of the heroic soldiers who were forced to abandon their positions and flee across the English Channel in order to escape German forces.

"We are very excited to be working with Tom on this project," said Nolan. "He is a remarkably talented actor and we are looking forward to seeing him bring this character to life."

Hardy is no stranger to war movies, having previously starred in films such as "The Revenant" and "Dunkirk". He will be joined in the new movie by fellow British actors Cillian Murphy and Kenneth Branagh.

The film is scheduled for release in July 2017.
